One thing you might need to check is your wireless config file on the router located at:
/etc/config/wireless
The following settings for that work for me:
config wifi-device wlan0
option type mac80211
option channel 5
option macaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (this is yours, not mine)
config wifi-iface
option device wlan0
option network lan
option mode monitor
That did the trick! So, it looks like the build does still work with the above modifications to the wireless config file.

Good job, big problem the old kismet drone with new linux distros.
If i pick up on this correct, your bin file is firing the drone on boot? I downloaded it last night.
I am happy the binary is in the firmware but I still need to operate it manually by telnet as its remote and only used for kismet occasionally.
I have split it to edit the drone config and put in ser2net and set serial as I have serial port fitted on my wrt54gl boxes.
